The Daggerfish Belt Box is a reuseable silicone box that gives you quick and easy access to small items like live bait, dog treats, and more.

Designed to replace the styrofoam containers that litter popular fishing locations, the Belt Box is an infintely reuseable watertight box that snaps onto a belt, pack strap, or wader. Here's how to get the most use out of it:

Using as a Belt Bait Box for Fishing

1. Fill with bait

Fill your Belt Box with live bait and soil, then press the lid on. If you removed the silicone box from the leather mount, stretch the rubber compression band around the box to reattach.

2. Snap to a belt or wader strap

Use the Daggerfish Strap Snap system to attach the Belt Box to any belt or strap up to 1.5" wide. A great option is to attach it to a wader strap, giving you easy accss to your bait without having to return to shore. The Belt Box will work equally well mounted horizontally or vertically.

3. Pinch to open, press to close

Open your Belt Box one-handed without removing the lid. Simply pop one corner of the box open with your thumb, then squeeze the box to expand the opening. Press the lid gently to close again.

4. Remove from the leather mount to clean

The silicone box is held securely to the leather mount with a heavy-duty compression band, but can be easily removed for cleaning by hand or in the dishwasher. Pull gently (but firmly) to slip the box out of the mount, then wash, dry, and reattach.   

5. Other Tips

Labeling: If you're carrying multiple belt boxes with different baits, you can keep them organized by labeling each with a dry-erase marker. Once dry, the label will remain until wiped clean with soap and water or a glass cleaner.

Long-term bait storage: The Belt Box is designed for temporary bait storage. If you're using the box for longer storage, leave a corner of the box open to allow for airflow. 

Replacing the compression band: The heavy-duty silicone compression band that comes with your Belt Box is designed to last the lifetime of the box, and will hold it securely and maintain its elasticity better than natural rubber. However, if your band ever breaks, you can replace it with another silicone band or EPDM rubber band by unsnapping the brass snaps on the leather mounts and inserting a new band in its place. Contact us if you need a replacement silicone band. 

Other uses for the Belt Box

Since it's  made from watertight, food-grade silicone rubber, and can be mounted to any belt or strap, the uses for the Belt Box are endless. One of our favorites is to snap it onto a belt or crossbody bag strap and fill with dog treats.

The Belt Box is also handy for carrying small items you need on the trail. Snacks, cough drops, medicine and more can be carried securely on the outside of your backpack for quick access, and important items labeled with a whiteboard marker.
